Matting & Framing

Many of our artists offer matted and/or framed prints in addition to Print Only offerings. The options offered are shown in the drop down list on the Product page. All other issues aside, if an artist offers matting and framing, the artist will generally accomplish this in a manner that is consistent with the photo art print. You are thus getting the artist's finished product. ? On the other hand, some people prefer to mat and frame the print themselves so they can better blend it into the room they will display it in. There can also be financial reasons to frame it yourself. You may want to consider the following, when deciding whether to have the artist frame the print or do it yourself.

• 12x12 Prints or smaller: The cost of packaging and shipping a framed print versus a print-only typically adds about 10-20% to the cost of framing.

• 12x15 to 24x36: The cost of packaging and shipping a framed print versus a print-only typically adds about 25-40% to the cost of framing.

• Larger than 24x36: The cost of packaging and shipping a framed print versus a print-only typically adds about 80% to the cost of framing.

• Local Pickup: If you are able to arrange to pick up from the artist's location, you thus avoid these extra expenses. In this case, when you place an order select the "Pick-up" shipping option.
